Workshop on project BGLD-3.001-0001 ‘Novel Approaches to Generating Data on hard-to-reach populations at risk of violation of their rights’
From November 11 to 13, 2019, a workshop on project BGLD-3.001-0001 ‘Novel Approaches to Generating Data on hard-to-reach populations at risk of violation of their rights’ was held at the NSI Training Center in Slivek, Lovech District. The meeting was attended by experts from the NSI project team, representatives of the project partner (Fundamental Rights Agency), researcher from the Institute for Population and Human Research at BAS, representatives of organizations implementing practical projects targeting vulnerable groups (UNICEF, Open Society Institute, Center for the Study of Democracy, Center for Independent Live), representatives of the Programme Operator and the Central Coordination Unit Directorate of the Council of Ministers.
The meeting was opened by Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky, President of the NSI, who expressed his strong commitment of the NSI for quality implementation of the project activities, considering the importance and high expectations for the project results.
At the workshop, the results of the preparatory phase of the project were presented and discussed in detail – methodological documents and analyzes developed to identify vulnerable groups, a list of indicators that will be available after conducting a national representative survey, including related policies, as well as the draft version of the survey questionnaire.
As a result of the presented analyzes and the fruitful discussions, were taken decisions to choose the main vulnerable groups – Roma, children at risk, disabled people and the elderly, which have to be covered by the next year representative survey.
